Hi Readers! I do hope that you all are really having a good time reading my blog.
After you completed reading my story with my learners on the previous pages, this moment I will share all my fanciful experiences during the program. Enjoy!
First and foremost, let’s start with the question “What is the purpose of the program?”. I verily believe that the paramount goal of this SEA Teacher program is to help the student teachers to develop themselves as teacher aspirant to become a professional educator in the future. Enrich and expand my horizon in teaching profession. Honestly speaking, taking a teaching as a career is not that easy but if you have the heart for teaching and you have passion with you everything will flow smoothly. By making a difference is an extravagant experience as long as you love your career and your students appreciate it that’s all that matters.
Secondly, “What is the procedure of the practicum?” Of course before I teach I consult my cooperating teacher regarding my lesson plan. I ask her if there is still mistakes, asking if she has suggestions so that the learning and teaching process will flow smoothly. Afterwards she approved it and I already begin to prepare my learning materials as well as prepare myself and give my best shot for the final demonstration teaching.
Thirdly, “What is the outcome of the practicum?” Participant of the SEA Teacher program is taking and integrating the responsibility of being a teacher. After the apprenticeship we as future educator should have a good methodology so that the teaching and learning process will be simple and the learners can understand. And we must have the strategy to catch the attention of the students so that they will perform well in the process.
Fourthly, “What is the challenges of the practicum?” The challenges that I encounter during my practicum is the classroom management. Furthermore the challenge is that some students can’t speak English because English is not their second language but a foreign language not like in the Philippines, so as a teacher I encourage them to speak English or teacher should learn about basic Bahasa words for communication.
Lastly, “Overall Impression” Being part of this program is a pride for myself. Meeting great people for a full month is certainly a very valuable experience. SEA Teacher Program is a good project for the students who wants to have an international internship to expand their horizon. This program is indeed an incredible stepping stone to learn the educational system of Southeast Asia country.
Surrounded by very friendly Al-Amjad Students and accepting us as a new family really touched our hearts. The Al-Amjad student friends who always accompany our days impressed me . This program really improves our knowledge and skills. Not only knowledge and skills, but also social values and cultural understanding that were not expected before. Maraming salamat po!
September 5, 2019 Friday heartfelt adieu was held at Main Campus of UMSU. The bitter and the sweet!☺ Why bitter? Because we need to bid our farewell to the person who help us during our stay in Indonesia. Why sweet? Because finally we just finished the program and learned everything we have to learn.

As participant of SEA Teacher Program and be deployed in Southeast Asian country is a big opportunity in teaching career soon. During my one month stay in Medan City, Indonesia we try to adapt change we should be responsible for all our doings. The mere fact that we are in another country we need to acclimate to a new environment as a respect to the country having different rules and regulation. As a newbie we need understand the culture and tradition they have.
ADVENTURE TIME!😍
“Medan Rumah Kita”
The famous tagline of Medan City, Indonesia really tell it all. I lost my heart in Medan City, Indonesia!🇮🇩
Staying for almost a month in Medan City, Indonesia island of North Sumatera is a fantastic experience. We are lucky enough that while we are having our internship we are also learning about the culture and tradition of the said country. We got the chance to explore this beautiful city. We had also the opportunity to experience the traditional clothing of Indonesia. August 24,2019, Saturday our City tour!😊

After a long trip we stopped at Berastagi to fill our empty stomach.
What makes me impress is the people of Medan because of the great people Medan made it a great place. My heart melts for the hospitality of the people, the kindness they gave even though it was our first time to meet each other.
We will never forget the people who help us during our stay in Medan City. We owe a lot to them and I think there’s no word can express how grateful we are that we have them.
Another thing is that I enjoyed all the foods that is being served even if I’m no used into spices. The food was different but I got surprised to the succulent taste.😊
Wonderful experiences that I will cherished forever. ❤
Medan City, Indonesia saya menemukan rumah kedua saya. Terima kasih banyak!
To my Ibnu Sina Class, Ibnu Haitam and Nusaibah Binti Ka’ab Mr. Philip will be forever grateful that I have shared all the knowledge I acquired. Different sections with lovely and attractive qualities. Spending my 28 days with the students is indeed a wonderful experience.
The thing that impress me is that they are courteous with all no
excemption.
The way of behaving it is really innate in the girls that they are more well-disciplined than boys class.
But boys are more active in the teaching and learning process they easily catch up with the lesson. They are also sweet even if we have a limited time to each other they can easily connect with me. And I got surprised with it.
Bidding my farewell to my class!👋
In general, they have high enthusiasm when it comes to learning process so that we create a harmonious environment in the class. They also embody kindness and respect.

Problem-Solving
Students cannot communicate with us due to language. But some of the students can really understand and speak English. Fortunately, we had our translator so we can still communicate and solve some problems. But as a future teacher we should have this strategy or technique so that problems can be solved.
7- Nusaibah Binti Ka’ab
7-Ibnu Haitam
7- Ibnu Sina
They are
truly extraordinary students. If the problem of knowledge and ability in learning,
THEY ARE GREAT! The thing that was impress me was their attitude they
were polite to all without exception.
Indeed, a
fantastic learning experience for me to impart all the knowledge I had been
acquired.
In Indonesia, they attend to kindergarten about 5 years old. There are 6 years for studying in primary school. They must go to school six (or five depending on the institution). They study on Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m until 4:00 in the afternoon. The Junior High School has the same study time. Students can also participate in extracurricular activities provided by the school.

Good Day! Anyway thank you so much for still be with me here! Let’s continue my story during my internship in Indonesia.
Talking about my success in this program, of course I cannot escape the help of my excellent and very helpful cooperating teacher. I will introduce to you on this page. Ms. Eka Putri Miranda B.Ed. she is active academically and in extra-curricular activities in the school. She had conceptualized all the material long before the day the material was taught.
There are many things that I can emulate from the way my cooperating teacher done. One thing is that she has this strategy or technique so that her students can really understand the lesson well. She do the ice breaking such as commanding the students to check their alertness then continuing learning using a language that is light and easy to understand. This method is effective enough to support the teaching and learning process in order to achieve the expected goals.
Behind every success of students is a teacher, a teacher whose willing to impart the knowledge, time, effort and most especially a teacher whose willing to share love and kindness to her students. Teacher as a catalyst of change. Teachers are difference maker!
Perguruan Al-Amjad Islamic School is a school which aims to hone the potential of students to become nationally and globally competitive individuals. Behind this Islamic School is the preeminent Mr. Fadhullah (Head of the Foundation), together with Mr. Alam and Mr. Aldi (Human Resource Affairs)
We also got the chance to meet the faculty members of the school who are exceptionally dedicated to their work. They are indulgent people as well as companionable.
